Sensiv Cocopeat- Sensiv Coco fibre is a medium that is fairly new and does surprisingly well producing good growth for orchid seedlings. It was best for the Phalaenopsis seedlings and a close second for the Cattleya seedlings. Coco fibre is derived from the husk fibres of coconuts. The fibres are compressed together with natural latex glue giving it a rubbery texture. Coco fibre is used for many applications. Some of the widely used areas are in rope manufacturing, making yarns, aquarium filters, upholstery for automobiles flower pots, sound proofing, mulch for plant growing, heat insulation, brush industries, bristles, mattresses, door mats, matting industry, rugs, carpets and fishing nets since it has strong resilience to salt water.
